gabalspice wig review #2.

Published May 1, 2013 by princeshinkei

So this is my second time buying from GabalSpice~  I bought a brown gradation skin wave extension wig from them and I love it!  It’s so realistic looking it’s amazing.  Customer service is very prompt and helpful.

They also gave me a wig essence sample for me to try and candy even though I bought the Premium version of the wig essence.

This time I also wanted to try the Premium Wig Essence from Gabalnara so I bought a bottle as well.

I spent around $101 but it was well worth it.  I love how the wig has a natural skin top and natural wig gradation.  It looks like my real hair.

If I had to buy from Gabalspice again, I definitely will!  This time I ordered from their in-stocks versus last time I pre-ordered a wig.  Very good experience so far.  I give an A+.

window shopping.

Published April 10, 2013 by princeshinkei

I went to the mall with my friend today to treat her to some Godiva Chocolate and we ended up window shopping. I recently just bought red velvet looking leggings and I wanted to find something to match it. I found the black skirt on the left and wanted to try it on, but I needed to find a top to go along with it. I picked the white top because it looked interesting and turns out I liked the white top better than I did the skirts I found. lol I didn’t buy it, but I think I might go back to the store and buy it. XD

Please excuse my red socks. >3<

momocon 2013

Published April 4, 2013 by princeshinkei

Momo Con finally arrived for me on March 8!!  I was so ecstatic.  Only problem was, this was the first time I’ve ever not worn a cosplay.  I actually bought one of my cosplays this time, but turns out it wouldn’t be finished until 4 months later.  So I panicked and tried to find a alternative.  Turns out my friends were cosplaying from K Project so I jumped on the bandwagon and decided to go as Neko.  Hilariously enough, my fabric didn’t arrive on time, so I went cosplayless anyways.  -sighs-  Instead on Friday and Saturday I wore my normal clothes and Sunday I went sweet lolita.  Good thing my “normal” clothes isn’t particularly normal in itself.  So it all worked out.
I also got to meet all my friends again and also got to meet my boyfriend again.  >3<  We had such a fun time.  I would say this con was mostly just hanging out with friends.  It was nice to just relax and not worry about cosplay once in a while.  XD

Yes yes, two posts in a day!  Trying to catch up.  lol  This was what I wore.

review: rainbowholic shopping service.

Published November 11, 2012 by princeshinkei

I wanted to do a review on a Japanese shopping service I recently purchased from here.
My friends decided to buy me this outfit from the Japanese store Putumayo for my birthday, so they all just forwarded me the money so I could go ahead and buy it online.  Sadly, this store doesn’t have an English site, and doesn’t ship internationally, so I had to find a shopping service.  I stumbled across rainbowholic and the owner of the page Kaila.  I emailed her my order and she replied back to me shortly after.  She made sure everything was correct before the order was placed and she is very friendly.
Kaila would tell me when she had received my money, when she placed the order, when it arrived at her doorsteps, and when she had shipped it out.  She also provided me a tracking number for my package and told me it would arrive in 4-7 days.   EMS shipping was used, and with my experience with EMS, I always got my package in 3 days, and to my delight, it was at my doorsteps in three days!

Packaged with rainbow deco tape~  XD

It says “otanjoubi omedetou gozaimasu”; Kaila was nice enough to write a small birthday note to me after I mentioned it to her!  >3<  Thank you!
The package was nicely wrapped in bubble wrap.

Wahh, she was even nicer to include a bunch of Japanese goodies as well!  I thought the bag was too  cute, and I really liked the almond chocolate sweets [behind the bag of chips].

This is her shop’s business card, I thought it was pretty.  XDD  Keeping the card definitely.

AND…..This is what I bought!  A shirt and earrings from Putumayo~  I loved them soo much!

My first clothing item for my future Putumayo collection!  ;D

This was the earring, couldn’t resist not getting them.  No pictures of the shirt yet, but I will have some soon!

All in all, I would definitely use rainbowholic’s shopping service again.  Really great experience, and you have NO IDEA how much I jumped today when I received my packages.  lol

sewing complications.

Published September 24, 2012 by princeshinkei

I have pretty much finished Flandre’s outfit, but I won’t debut it until this weekend. Anime convention is this weekend and I still can’t believe time has gone by so fast! Seems like just a month ago I was still trying to figure out how to put together my cosplays.
I feel like I’ve learned a lot more than I’ve ever learned this time around. I didn’t have any help from anyone so I had to figure out everything on my own. I drafted my own pattern, modified existing patterns, and learned a LOT about ruffles and gathering.
Now I’m actually working on my second cosplay for the con; I’m going as Inori Yuzuriha from Guilty Crown. I’m going in her casual black dress version. The dress is actually pretty simple make so it’s only been 3 days and I’m almost done. I think one more day and I’ll be done, not including her bag she carries and the little pouches on the side of her dress. I’ll slowly post up the WIPs if I’m not too busy finishing up.

I had to deal with more gathers for her dress as well but I was trying to do things quicker so I tried cutting 5 layers of Kona Cotton all at once. It wasn’t impossible, but I had to use some force to cut through it. In the process, I pinched my finger between the scissors handle and caused some bleeding under my skin. DX That was one complication.

The other one was me going at top speed on my sewing machine overcasting over 80 inches strips of fabric on all four sides. You can imagine how many times the sewing machine jammed up. lol

This is my mock up for Inori’s dress.  She actually has the white version of this dress as well.  It’s much simpler than the black one.  Maybe I’ll make it as well.  haha

sleeves and ruffle fun.

Published September 9, 2012 by princeshinkei

Sleeves~ POOFY sleeves, are fun. XD I gathered the sleeves on the bottom and it actually turned out too tight, so I had to undo the stitches and redo then.
This was before I had figured out where I wanted to place the ribbon.

pre

Sewed on the ribbon.  It was a bit hard since I was sewing such a small bias tape onto an uneven surface; in this case, all those gathers.  I actually bought some red bias tape for this part, but it turned out to be a shade lighter, so I ended up having to make mine own 1/4 inch bias tape.

poof

Finished up the sleeves and started working on the bottom of the blouse.  More frills.  lol  Two rows of them.  But before that, I took a snack break.  Ate some anchovies with sesame seed with a bit of spiciness.  It was yummy~

fish

Serging yards and yards of cloth strips for ruffles.  Takes so much thread.

frills

This was basically all the ruffles my outfit had.

lots of frill

But all in all, I’m almost done!
